What Will Happen Now?

Montag ran and pretty much got away. He is with a group of different people down by the railroad. From my understanding these people are just like him, which is really good. Since he has been with them he knows what is going on with the chase for him. The police just found a random guy thats done nothing wrong and killed him. They did this and said it was actually Montag to the viewers so they wouldnt worry about him anymore. They also did it so the people wouldnt get bored with the show. Now that this has happened what will happen next? Will they continue the search for Montag or will they just leave it at that? I also am wondering since fabor was most likly watching the tv when all of this went down, will he think Montag is really dead? Will Montag move on from the group and keep going to meet Fabor? If he does end up going to meet Fabor will Fabor be shocked that Montag isn't dead? These are all the questions i ask myself when i wonder whats gonna happen next. Hopefully ill get all my answers in the last section of the book.

  1. I agree with Tiffany. It's good that Montag found people like him. People who can think and educate one another with their knowledge. Granger and everyone else Montag finds has a intelligent plan. They memorize parts of books and burn them afterwords. Without these people, the stories would be lost forever after sometime. Granger and his fellow thinkers are extremely smart. They changed their fingerprints and got plastic surgury so that they won't be found. It's like their own way of escaping. I also agree that it was wrong for the police to kill an innocent man. He was just a scapegoat for the police. The police knew that if they didn't fine Montag soon, the 'audience' would be lost. Killing the man kept the bestial people of this screwed up community stimulated. I think it was wrong for the police to just kill an innocent person. I question if Montag will ever go back to the city. If he does, will people know it's him? Or will they not think it's him because he is supposedly dead? I hope to get answers in the last 10 pages.

  2. I have the same opinions as Kenzie and Tiffany. I now know the answer to Kenzie's question that asks if Montag will go back to the city because i read the last ten pages. I don't really understand why they killed the entire city by bombing them. The only thing that can come to my mind is that there is a war going on and that's why it was bombed but in my head I somewhat think that there might be another reason to why they would do this. Maybe to hide the fact that they just killed an innocent man could cause the city to be destroyed so no one finds out, but then again, the community doesn't think for themselves and probably wouldn't care anyway.

Now on to when Montag meets Granger and the others. In my opinion, it is very important that Montag found other people, like Granger, that think and believe the same way he does. The old saying "there is strength with numbers" pops into my head. Obviously changes won't happen overnight, but the more people to support a cause, the better the outcome will be for the supporters. This reminds me of what we just leaned about in history class involving the Enlightment. For centuries, people just went with that idea that God, or a higher power, started this type of system and accepted it. Then people like Locke and others came in and changed the communities thoughts of how to live. I compare these people to Granger and Montag. They want to change the way society is because in their opinion, it is wrong. Since they don't show what happens to the society in Fahrenheit 451, I am led to believe it turns out the same way that history did, that in the end, Montag and Granger will get what they want. Those are my thoughts over the last section of Fahrenheit 451
